August 2014 Loot Crate Review: Heroes!
Loot Crate is a monthly geek and gamer swag subscription box. Each month they send 6 to 8 handpicked items for $13.37 plus $6 shipping and handling. Each box are guaranteed to have a value of $30 or more. The box is shipped via USPS Priority Mail and most times arrive in about 2 days which is very awesome.
This box i must say may have to be one of the best LootCrate boxes that they have put together. I feel the content inside was well worth the $20. Also this months had an EXCLUSIVE toy just for us looters.
The theme for August is Heroes. You'll find items from TMNT, Guardians of the Galaxy and Sonic the Hedgehog. Heres what i received from Loot Crate this month:
Funko POP! Groot Exclusive: This was hands down THE best item in the box. Not only is it Funko, and Groot who is my favorite right now, but he glows in the dark and he is a special exclusive just for us awesome looters. I was so excited when i saw him in there i did a little dance. Estimated retail cost for the Vinyl is $15.
TMNT Full Figure from Kidrobot: This was definitely an awesome addition to the box. Even tho Michelangelo is my favorite turtle, i can deal with Ralph. Unless someone out there has a Mikey they are willing to trade. These are super cute and i especially love how they have the packaging identical to the ones in the 80's. Now i may have to collect the entire series. Estimated retail cost for the TMNT figures are $9.99-$15.99.
TMNT Mask Glasses from H2W: Well who doesn't love such awesome shades. Ok it's Leonardo but it was fun for the minute or two while wearing them. Once again Mikey out there anyone? Estimated retail cost for the glasses is about $3.
Sonic Air Freshener: A car always needs something yummy to smell like and a cool thing from which the yummy smell comes from. Estimated retail cost for the air freshener is about $3.
Shoe Lightning Bolts by Schwings: I always wanted one of these altho its not the color that i needed. Nonetheless its still pretty cool. Estimated retail cost for the air freshener is about $8.
Magnet: Deadpool magnet is ok. Not a deadpool fan but i do love me some magnets to decorate our fridge. Estimated retail cost for the magnet is about $3.
Bonus Digital Loot: Yay! I love in-app codes especially when it's free. Estimated retail cost for the codes is unknown since its in app purchases.

I especially love how you can turn the crate box into a TMNT backdrop, i know the wee little ones would have fun with it.
I definitely loved this box. The Groot alone made it worth the costs as well as the TMNT figure. The rest of the items were just a nice addiction. This box alone was estimated to about $40 which is DEFINITELY worth it since you only payed $20. And COME ON, that Groot!!!!
