January 2015 Loot Crate Review: REWIND!

Loot Crate is a monthly geek and gamer swag subscription box. Each month they send 6 to 8 handpicked items for $13.37 plus $6 shipping and handling. Each box are guaranteed to have a value of $30 or more. The box is shipped via USPS Priority Mail and most times arrive in about 2 days which is very awesome.

The theme for January is Rewind. You'll find items from Star Wars, Voltron, and Geeky things. Heres what i received from Loot Crate this month:

EXCLUSIVE Voltron Blueprint T-Shirt: Its always nice to have a shirt included in your crate. This design was ok, i’ve been seeing a ton of Voltron shirts included in everything so this one wasn’t too special. The material was nice and soft. The artist is from Flophouse where they have other shirts you can get as well Estimated retail cost for the shirt is $15.

EXCLUSIVE Star Wars Comic Book Issue 1: You know how excited I get when a comic book is included. This one is issue 1 for Star Wars new comic book series. The covers are always different variants using the LootCrate logo for this one. Estimated retail cost for the comic is $5.

EXCLUSIVE 10-Doh! Figures: Now this was a very neat item. It has a combination of everything that I love in one. You have a NES cartridge with a picture of a Fifth Element reference on it as a cute little standing figure. There are so many of these made and I got the main one i wanted so i’m happy. I need to go and find the Doctor Who one as well. This little guy is 3 inches tall but the normal ones are about 7 inches. Estimated retail cost for the item is $10.

EXCLUSIVE Retro Arcade Skinny Tie: While having a tie is always necessary to have around the house I just don’t feel the need of putting one in a crate, especially when the need for wearing one is mostly on the male percentage. I mean, yea, us females COULD wear this as a headband or belt or something but not most of us would. I do love Black Tie Geek items, we’ve received bow ties from them in our previous crates that were cool. Estimated cost for the tie is $15.

Comic Notebook: This would be a cute item to put in a goody bag for a child who is interested in drawing, especially comics. Its a nice thought but I won’t have any use for it since its really tiny. Estimated cost for the book is $4

8-Bit Glasses: Well, ya gotta look retro cool and this is the way to do it. I haven’t tested them out if they actually do a good job at blocking the sun or just look cool sitting on your face. Estimated cost for the glasses are $5.

Themed Button: Button Swag, at least they decided to keep this in for the collection.

Loot Crate Unboxing Guide: Every Loot Crate comes with a booklet that explains every item in the box and where it comes from.

Themed Box: This may be my favorite interactive box yet. It turns into a Nintendo box, the booklet has a cardboard controller you can pop out and lay it next to and I think it looks really cool.
